As we head into the 8th month of 2020 we do so with The Mogo Lolly Shop doors closed to the public.
The rain that we had earlier this week was hectic to say the very least.
On Sunday Kay (my super star employee) and I packed 40 online orders which I managed to deliver to the post office on time for them to leave our area, before realising that the main shop floor was covered in water. We’ve lost a window also in the winds that hit the area.
I’ve had a cry and I’ve pulled up my big girl pants and today I know it’s only water and that things will dry and that hopefully we won’t have lost the new units which we had only had at the store for 6 days 🤦🏻♀️
As COVID-19 scares me to my core I have decided that The Mogo Lolly Shop will only trade online for the next 4 weeks. The store is presently COVID-19 Safe and after everything else we have endured this year I want to keep my store and my family and community safe as long as I possibly can.
Sending out sweet treats in the mail means that we will get up again and forge forward when I believe the threat here in the area has passed. I believe that if I jump too early that I could be jumping from the fry pan into the fire and I’m not prepared to do that just yet.
I will release further updates as we head through August. As COVID-19 visited the village of Mogo I’ve had to make decisions on how we would best move forward for the time being. By remaining closed I know that we are sending you products that are not only delicious but also safe from this virus. We will miss our Birthday celebrations to celebrate another year in our new home here in Sydney Street. But I will work out a way to celebrate even with the doors closed.
So far this year has thrown the book at us here but I smile as I read your comments on our Facebook page. I may not be speaking with you at the store but I always know I will open my Facebook page and that you are all still there cheering us on. It’s the love of our community through Facebook that keeps spurring me on not to give up. If I give up I won’t get to see all of your smiles and hear your laughter as you enter The Mogo Lolly Shop.
So for now I Thank You all yet again for your encouragement and your support. 2020 will soon be a distant memory. I look forward to a happy Spring 🥰
